Botox – Beyond the Brows

Botox® is a fabulous “quick fix” for your wrinkles. In fact, Botox injections are the most common non-surgical cosmetic procedure performed at W Cosmetic Surgery. The FDA has approved Botox ONLY for the treatment of forehead wrinkles—the ones that form between your eyebrows – like these:

Most doctors who offer Botox only treat these areas, and use the standard dose recommended in the product handout. This approach is certainly safe, but it does not always do all the positive things that Botox can do for the face! More on that in a moment.

Botox is given by these professionals in a 5 or six spot pattern, but the technique can lead to this:

This patient has a droopy right brow and a quizzical look on the left brow, it looks sort of “funky.” It’s something you can see on any one of a number of politicians, film and TV stars—unless they are doing something else like having their brows plucked to look strange!

That’s the bad. Good Botox is entirely different. W Cosmetic Surgery takes Botox beyond the brows! We use it to lift the face! Our “Botox Facelift” works by weakening the muscles that pull the face down.

More than a decade ago, we realized the possibility of selectively weakening certain muscles in order to make other muscle groups work better. It’s been the basis of many of our teachings in courses and in at least six articles we’ve written in the medical literature.

We would love to show you how we’ve developed our own technique here at W Cosmetic Surgery. You can see more of our work in the Botox section of our new website at: https://wc0sm37ic5ustg.wpengine.com/ Call our office today to get on our schedule at 484-324-2464.
