Dr. Allan E. Wulc is a Philadelphia-based oculoplastic and facial plastic surgeon whose practice attracts patients from across the United States and abroad for specialized surgery of the eyes, eyelids, midface, and face. Founder of W Cosmetic Surgery, just outside Philadelphia in Plymouth Meeting, is Board Certified in Ophthalmology, Facial Cosmetic Surgery, and Plastic Surgery. Dr. Wulc has specialized fellowship training in oculoplastic and orbital surgery.

He is a member of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). His practice focuses on eyelid surgery, midface lifting, facial rejuvenation, and complex restorative surgery. Raised in a family spanning two generations of artists, he brings a lifelong appreciation of proportion, expression, and individuality to his surgical work—seeking to preserve what makes a face distinctive rather than impose a standardized ideal.

Academic Appointments

Dr. Wulc spent ten years on faculty at the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as Chief of the Oculoplastic Service and Chief of the Orbital Service at the Scheie Eye Institute and was promoted to Associate Professor of Ophthalmology. 

He continues to be involved academically, both through resident teaching and lecturing.  His continuing academic appointments include:

  • Clinical Associate Professor of Ophthalmology—University of Pennsylvania (since 1996)
  • Associate Clinical Professor of Otolaryngology—Temple University (since 2012)
  • Associate Preceptor, Oculoplastic Fellowship—Albany Medical College (since 2007)
  • Associate Preceptor, Oculoplastic Fellowship—University of Pennsylvania (since 2013)

Dr. Wulc served as Guest Editor of the Journal of Dermatologic Surgery and Oncology from 1993 to 1998.
 
He is Co-Editor of Advances in Cosmetic Surgery (Elsevier), spanning Volumes I through VIII from 2017 to 2025, and has served as Editor of the Oculoplastics section of Advances in Ophthalmology and Optometry (Elsevier).
 
Since 2019, he is coeditor of the Cosmetic Abstracts section of the Journal of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
 
Since 2010, he has co-directed the Practical Anatomy Workshops in Eyelid and Facial Plastic Surgery at Saint Louis University.

Dr. Wulc is a named inventor on four issued United States patents involving endoscopic and minimally invasive suturing and facial soft-tissue elevation, with corresponding patent protection pursued in Canada, Europe, Australia, Germany, Austria, South Korea, and through the Patent Cooperation Treaty.
