What Are Hyaluronic Acid Fillers?

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring component of the skin. HA makes skin look smooth, plump, and youthful as it attracts and retains moisture. As we age, the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin decreases, developing fine lines, wrinkles, or a hollow, gaunt facial look. Hyaluronic acid fillers — commonly known as “fillers” — are synthetically produced hyaluronic acid mimicking what is naturally found in the skin. These fillers are injected into problem areas to rejuvenate the face by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles and adding plumpness. The results from facial fillers are immediate.

Restylane ®

The Restylane® family of products are some of the world’s most widely used and versatile injectable fillers. We are proud to have been one of the first practices in the Philadelphia area to introduce Restylane® Defyne and Restylane® Refyne to our area. All these products shape and sculpt the face. Newly introduced products include Restylane Kysse and Restylane Contour, all of which have specific locations and indications for use and are available at W Cosmetic Surgery.

Juvéderm®

The Juvéderm® line of products can lift and contour your cheeks, plump your lips, and smooth out lines and wrinkles on the face. You’ll love the natural-looking and long-lasting results. This line of products includes Juvéderm® XC, Juvéderm Ultra XC, Juvéderm Voluma® XC, or Juvéderm Volbella® XC, and the newly introduced Juvéderm Volux for contouring the jawline.

TEOSYALⓇ – Redensity, RHAⓇ 2,3, and 4

These products, newly offered in the U.S., are highly sophisticated hyaluronic acid products with slightly more elasticity and seem to move better with facial expressions. Scientifically formulated in Switzerland, we especially like Redensity for under-eye treatments, fine lines, and wrinkles.

Under-Eye Hollows

We are experts at injecting filler under the eyes. As an oculoplastic surgeon, Dr. Wulc deals with the delicate anatomy of the undereye area and knows exactly where to add volume to create a beautiful result. Not all patients will benefit from this procedure, but it can be a long-lasting procedure that allows them to avoid cosmetic lower eyelid surgery for years. It’s also valuable for patients with overly aggressive upper and lower eyelid surgery to restore a natural contour to the area around the eyes.

There are different options regarding the types and placement of facial fillers. Often, our patients have a preference based on their experience, which we are happy to honor. Eyelid and Midfacial Injections

We’ve developed a technique for eyelid and midfacial injection that has been presented nationally to colleagues in the industry. Eyelid and midfacial injections help to create a replenished, lifted look. They can enjoy very natural-looking results.

Voluma Cheek Lift

Chin Augmentation
