How Thermitight® Works

After a small volume of anesthetic solution is injected into the area to be treated, the tiny ThermiRF® SmartTip® thermistor probe is inserted under the skin. The surgeon applies gentle movements to heat up the tissues to the desired level. Skin safety is monitored with Thermal Image Guidance®. Most procedures last less than one hour. After the procedure, a gentle wrap is applied and the patient may resume normal activities the next day.

Thermitight Vs. Kybella

Many people try to compare these two procedures, but they completely different. Kybella is a solution that only dissolves fat without addressing any skin contraction whatsoever. Thermitight is an energy-based procedure that involves the insertion of a radiofrequency wand under the surface of the skin that produces both fat dissolution and skin contraction via heating. Thermitight does not cause the same degree of swelling that Kybella does. Kybella needs to be injected multiple times and produces lots of swelling each time. Thermi is a one-time procedure that can produce swelling this one time. The cost of radiofrequency skin tightening needs to be discussed at the time of consultation and depends on the area treated and the modality employed.

Which Is Better–Thermitight Or Ultherapy?

Thermitight is a direct subcutaneous injection of radiofrequency energy into the underlying skin. It produces changes including tightening of the septal network, and the energy created by controlled heating causes fat shrinkage and skin shrinkage. Skin burns are rare because tissue temperatures are monitored using infrared imaging. Ultherapy works by ultrasound. In our experience, Thermitight is a better modality for neck tightening and face tightening and tightening of the jowls. Ultherapy is painful—Thermitight does not hurt because, in order to perform the procedure, you receive an injection of local anesthesia.

Thermitight Vs. Thermage:

Thermage is an external treatment with radiofrequency energy. Thermitight involves treating the underlying tissue with a small injectable needle of energy. The needle is coupled with an infrared visualization system to make sure that the tissue is being heated to an adequate degree. Thermage is the application of RF on the outer surface of the skin. In our experience, it does not produce the same improvement as what we see with Thermitight. Thermismooth and Thermage are similar. Thermismooth also represents the application of external radiofrequency energy to the skin surface, and in our hands, it is relatively disappointing for the permanent correction of wrinkles and fat excess. ThermiRF and Thermitight are the same things.
