Prior to working at W Cosmetic Surgery, Botox (or injections of any kind) never crossed my mind. I was under the impression that I wouldn’t need injections until I got “old” or “wrinkly.” I soon came to understand that was not true. The more time I spent assisting Dr. Wulc and watching patients of all ages see the benefits of Botox, I became a believer.

I got my first Botox injection three years ago. I was 23. I was extremely unhappy with the deep lines across my forehead. Because I am very expressive, I noticed no matter what creams I used or how hard I tried to consciously not use my eyebrows or forehead, the lines never went away. So, I figured I’d give this Botox thing a try.

I didn’t go home the first day looking wrinkle-free. It takes time to work its magic. Within a few weeks, I started to notice that I seemed to age in reverse. After the first couple of injections, I could see how much softer the deep lines became and how much smoother my forehead looked. On top of that, I noticed a lift in my eyebrows which helped me look much more awake and refreshed. Three years later and those deep lines that I thought would never go away are nonexistent. I get injections every three-four months now, so the wrinkles don’t have a chance to reappear.

I’ve even become sort of a Botox expert with my friends and family. When they found out I was getting injections, their initial response was “Why are you doing that? You’re crazy, you don’t need Botox yet!” It’s likely I would have said the same thing. But now, I let my “before and after” pictures do the talking. The picture on the bottom shows how my forehead looks today-line free! After seeing the progression of my skin and how much softer my whole appearance is, they are jumping on the band wagon and are no longer Botox virgins!

I’m happy to answer any questions you might have about getting Botox for the first time. You can also check out information about it (and the Botox alternatives Xeomin and Dysport) on our Botox/Xeomin/Dysport page.
